Okay... what could have caused this? | Pilots of America
Jan 9, 2013 · Also possible, though difficult to imagine, is somehow the alternator was not in alignment with the ring gear to start with. In the pic it almost looks like that tension strap/bar is flexed? May be just an optical illusion. Also, isn't it unusual to safety wire a tension bolt?
DUAL Garmin G5 HSI & PFD In Flight Demo - Pilots of America
Jan 4, 2018 · Like you said, they can have an optical illusion mixed in the panel. They didn't have the HSI yet when I installed. I am not so patiently waiting on dynon to decide on the Skyview HDX, another G5 or to see if the G500's have any impact (able …
KAVX - Catalina Island, twin-engine Beechcraft crash 5 dead
Oct 9, 2024 · After dark, I can imagine that the inability to see the far end of the runway could be confusing. Of course, it could have been something entirely different with engine problems, or nav issue or a dozen other things. But the crown presents an optical illusion of limited take off length.

Oct 20, 2006 · Once the stall occurred, regarding the left rudder maybe pilot figured “I’m not climbing fo sho, now turning hard left on its own, so turn left back for the runway since the plane is dipping the left wing anyway” or “oh crap, left turn, gotta stay coordinated”.
Why isn’t my rpm at 2400 during full prop/full power
Jan 16, 2024 · The second I did was an optical gauge app on the iPhone. I tested at various rpms and the props were only steady at a 100-150 above the rpms showed on the gauge. So now this begs the question. Do I get this fix or just add probes to by 730 or upgrade to a primary engine monitor. Anyone have any idea how much the fix would cost?
American Optical vs Randolph engineering aviators
Jan 30, 2023 · Between American Optical and Randolph Engineering… which is generally considered better quality for the price? Been looking at aviators, polycarbonate but would like dark tint and understand that polycarbonate does not take tint very well unless it’s polycarbonate, then there’s the endless debate about affecting digital screens.
Bifocals vs Progressive - Pilots of America
Jan 16, 2018 · I bought a pair of single vision rimless glasses from Zenni after a very disappointing experience with boutique rimless specs costing $350 (they kept falling apart where the nose bridge and temples fasten to the lenses). The Zenni Optical Rx glasses were $40 and I've worn them daily for three years without any issues. An amazing value IMHO.
