This beautiful forest park is run by Coillte, so there is a small fee to pay for entry. It is certainly worth every cent. Uniquely amongst Coillte's parks, Ards forest park includes sandy beaches, a rocky shoreline and a diversity of habitats.

Ards is a Forest Park but by the sea and at the moment it is free or was up to recently. You have a nice long scenic run in through a forest and then you meet the sea as it comes into the land. There is a nice car park with public toilets and they are free too.

Covering 480 hectares along the northern shore of the Ards Peninsula and 5km southeast of Dunfanaghy, the park is home to some lovely walks, the best of which lead to its clean beaches with views across Clonmass Bay.
