In the escalating court battle between the Justice Department and major law firms over President Trump’s punitive executive orders, Chicago-based Jenner & Block is leading a counteroffensive.

Jenner & Block and WilmerHale are seeking summary judgments against what one of them called “a plain violation of the First Amendment.”

Attorney General Pam Bondi railed against a federal judge who partially blocked enforcement of President Donald Trump’s executive order targeting the Jenner & Block law firm, telling government agencies to stop enforcing the order despite the “blatant overstepping of the judicial power,
