Konanki was last seen with Joshua Riibe, a 24-year-old American who claimed he saved her from drowning after they were caught in a strong wave

Konanki's week-long disappearance has left investigators puzzled and led her parents to call for an expanded search effort for their daughter, a pre-med student.

Sudiksha Konanki, an Indian citizen and permanent resident of the United States, was last seen on March 6 at the Riu Republic Resort in Punta Cana.
