The 76ers’ center was hit in the face while trying to make defensive play 12 seconds before the halftime intermission. Embiid fell to court and remained there for 5.5 seconds before the Sixers called a timeout. The 7-foot-2, 280-pound center (impact to right side of face) will not return to the game.

30 minutes before the start of the game, the Sixers added veteran point guard Kyle Lowry to their injury report as questionable with lower back spasms. Moments later, he was ruled out for the game. Nurse has noted in the past a desire to be cautious with the workload of Lowry, the 38-year-old floor general with plenty of mileage.

Tyrese Haliburton had 32 points and 11 assists and the Indiana Pacers beat Philadelphia 121-107 on Friday night, with the 76ers playing the second half without Joel Embiid after he sustained a sinus fracture when he was struck in the face late in the first.

Ahead of their Friday night matchup against the Indiana Pacers, the Philadelphia 76ers left Joel Embiid off the injury report. For the second game in a row, Embiid was set to play after he made his return against the Chicago Bulls on Sunday.
