Several injured after Birmingham fairground ride 'failed and crashed' in Centenary Square
A number of people were injured on a ride at a Christmas fairground in Birmimgham city centre tonight after it "failed and crashed". All three main emergency services rushed to the dramatic scene at around 7.30pm. Police sealed off an area around the 55-metre Star Flyer attraction. Images online showed seats on the ride tangled together.

Two women have been rushed to hospital with injuries which are not believed to be serious and eleven others have been treated at the scene of the incident in Centenary Square, in Birmingham.

Pair arrested after fairground ride crash bailed
Two men who were arrested after a fairground ride failed in Birmingham city centre have been released on bail. The pair, aged 55 and 21, were arrested at the City Star Flyer ride on Centenary Square on Thursday evening on suspicion of perverting the course of justice and obstructing officers.
