Bare Hands, a non-profit arts organization, plans to turn a historic Woodlawn church building into a creative space for exhibitions, performances and teaching.
A century-old church building in Woodlawn is the home of the new Bare Hands Community Art Center. Bare Hands is a 509(a)(2) nonprofit, based in Birmingham. Since 2010, it has not had an arts space.
I just feel like Birmingham needs a space like this, like a community art space,” said Executive Director Aimee Castro.
