It's a possibility, according to a Wednesday morning report from Daniel Popper and Nate Taylor of The Athletic. Per Popper and Taylor, "when it comes to domestic standalone games, the Chiefs have requested that the NFL make them a fixture on Christmas Day, according to a league source."

If it wasn’t obvious already, the NFL wants your undivided attention on Christmas Day. After last season’s Christmas doubleheader on a Wednesday, the league is taking it a step further with the holiday falling on Thursday this season.

With the Chiefs playing the Pittsburgh Steelers on Christmas Day last season, the franchise reportedly wants to make it an annual thing. The Chiefs are surely looking to follow in the footsteps of other teams who have their "own" game on the holidays, with the Dallas Cowboys synonymous with Thanksgiving Day games.
