Sidney Crosby comes into the Pittsburgh Penguins' home game against the Ottawa Senators on Saturday as the ninth-leading point producer in NHL history.

Sidney Crosby continued his ascent in the record books Thursday night, notching a pair of assists in the first period against the Edmonton Oilers to surpass Joe Sakic for ninth place on the NHL's all-time points list.

The Penguins captain tied Hall of Famer Joe Sakic at 1,641 points with an assist on Bryan Rust's first-period goal and passed him with an assist on Drew O'Connor's goal later in the game.

The Oilers' 5-3 loss to the Penguins ended a seven-game winning streak against the Penguins dating back to Dec. 20, 2019.
