The Trump administration has said it has revoked the visas of more than 300 international students across the country in the last three weeks.

College officials worry the new approach will keep foreigners from wanting to study in the U.S. Students stripped of their entry visas are receiving orders from the Department of Homeland Security to leave the country immediately — a break from past practice that often permitted them to stay and complete their studies.

The Bechtel International Center has warned some students against leaving the country, amid fears they might not be able to return.

The Coalition estimates its policy would see 30,000 fewer new international students per year than Labor’s policy. It would also hike visa fees to $5,000 for some unis.
