Apple plans to refresh both the Apple TV and the HomePod mini in 2025 as part of a major push into refreshing its smart home product

Apple's plans for 2025 are already beginning to take shape, and purportedly on the horizon is a long-overdue refresh to its smart home lineup. The iPhone maker plans to introduce a new Apple TV and HomePod Mini that are "scheduled for next year," Bloomberg's Mark Gurman reports.

The Bloomberg report centres on Apple's new Wi-Fi and Bluetooth chip, which is expected to appear in the iPhone 17 in September 2025. It'll also likely be used in the iPad and Mac the following year. The chip, codenamed Proxima, is separate from Apple's proprietary 5G modem and is expected to support Wi-Fi of at least Wi-Fi 6E.
