Some evacuees from the Malibu wildfire were allowed to return home on Thursday as nearly 2,000 firefighters made progress in battling the blaze that has destroyed several houses in the beach community that is home to many Hollywood celebrities.

A fast-moving wildfire forced residents in Malibu to evacuate as it threatened homes, knocked out power and closed roads on Dec. 10.

Celebrities in Malibu, California, including Dick Van Dyke, Jane Seymour and Mira Sorvino, are evacuating their homes to escape the Franklin Fire.

Firefighters continue to battle Franklin Fire in Malibu which has burned over 4,000 acres and is 7% contained.

Dick Van Dyke credits neighbors with saving his life and his house after the Franklin Fire inched its way to toward his Malibu home earlier this week.

Three neighbors came and carried me out and came back and put out a little fire in the guest house and saved me,” the beloved actor said.
