A preview up to Files, a third-party file explorer, just received a preview update that makes it look even better when compared to the default File Explorer on Windows 11.

Windows 11's File Explorer is getting at least three new features or improvements related to tabs or windows management.

In the Folder Options window, click the drop-down menu next to the Open File Explorer to option and select "This PC." In addition to "This PC," you can also choose the Personal page or a linked smartphone as the default page for File Explorer. Once you've made your selection, click “Apply” and then “OK” to save the changes.

If you’ve ever accidentally closed File Explorer in the middle of digging through several folders across multiple tabs, you know how annoying that can be. Well, you won’t have to worry about that anymore soon.

KB5046733 comes with huge changes to the way Windows 11 users access File Explorer. It should be easier to manage it now.

With update KB5046733, Windows 11 introduced some interesting new features. Among these is the capability to restore File Explorer tabs like recently used tabs in a web browser. However, this option is somewhat concealed within the settings of the test version of Windows 11.
