The progress within the Chicago Blackhawks organization since Connor Bedard's rookie season last year has been non-existent. As it stands, the Blackhawks are the worst team in the NHL, owning a grand total of 30 points through 41 games,

Despite Bedard’s success as a rookie (he led the team with 61 points in just 68 games played) and this season (37 points, including 11 goals and 26 assists, in 41 games), the Blackhawks' 14–25-2 record through Wednesday's slate has the franchise sitting dead last in the NHL standings.

Connor Bedard had a goal and an assist, and the Chicago Blackhawks beat the Colorado Avalanche 3-1. Frank Nazar and Ilya Mikheyev also scored for Chicago, which had lost six of seven.

Bedard tallied a goal and an assist in the Hawks' 3-1 victory Wednesday, extending his point streak to eight consecutive games. Petr Mrazek and Seth Jones stepped up, too.

There are detractors out there because he isn’t at the level of Connor McDavid or Auston Matthews despite being called a “generational talent” while playing major junior. Those are unrealistic expectations right away in the NHL for various reasons.
