After 16 years in the NFL, Los Angeles Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford may be nearing the end of the line. The Georgia product is 37, after all, with a Super Bowl ring and adulation from two fanbases to his name. When his name began to pop up in trade rumors this offseason, speculation ran rampant that the end was near.

So, the Giants were all-in for Stafford especially when you consider they offered more money than the Rams but also went and added his brother-in-law to the coaching staff. Going to those lengths and still being turned down only shows that the Giants were the last thing on Stafford’s mind from the start.

Whether Matthew Stafford and Tom Brady had a “chance” run-in at a Montana ski resort or it was a little more than that, Stafford certainly found a sympathetic ear. The team isn’t showing enough respect. The coach thinks he can win without me. I just want to be paid what I’m worth. They’re taking advantage of my generosity.
