Less than a month into his second term in office, Donald Trump declared that negotiations to end the three-year war in Ukraine had officially started – and then expressed support for all of Putin’s main demands.

President Trump said that Ukraine will be a part of upcoming peace talks to end the war there. President Trump also said he believes he can trust Russia's President Putin when it comes to the topic of Ukraine.

Almost three years after Russia invaded its neighbor Ukraine, talks are to begin to end the bloody and destructive war that has cost tens of thousands of lives.
