Scattered light rain and drizzle will continue in South Texas this weekend, and two cold fronts will keep rain chances alive next week.

Houstonians, currently bathing in near-80-degree high temperatures on Monday, are about to get walloped by a blast of the coldest air of the season yet. A cold front will push through the region tonight,

Overnight cloud cover will subside, allowing for radiational cooling to take place. This means the warmth at the surface will radiate out into the atmosphere, allowing for cooling. Lows Wednesday morning are expected to be around freezing for most of North Texas.

After a very warm afternoon on Monday, our next cold front arrives Monday night, which will set up much colder weather this week.
