The National Weather Service said based on videos, photos, firsthand accounts, and radar signatures, a tornado touched down around 1:40 p.m. They said their officials are working to determine a ranking for the tornado.

Scotts Valley police said six cars were overturned and another 10 or so were damaged by the twister, which hit the center of Mt. Hermon Road at 1:40 pm.
