The Chiefs and Lions aside, here are six other teams that opponents don't want to see on their playoff schedules come January.

The NFL entered a new era on Wednesday by allowing the first investments by private equity firms in teams. League owners voted to approve the sales of two 10% stakes, the maximum allowed to be acquired by institutional investors under new ownership rules set earlier this year.

In August, the NFL voted to allow institutional investors to buy into franchises. The world’s richest league had stood apart from every other top-level global professional sports league by declining to allow private equity or other institutional investment in its teams.

Seven NFL teams have been eliminated from playoff consideration, the most at this point in the season since 2005, when nine had been eliminated. Six of those eliminated teams are in the AFC, which only has 10 remaining playoff contenders,

As the NFL heads into Week 15, several teams, like the Buffalo Bills and the Kansas City Chiefs, have already booked their postseason trips. In the NFC, the Detroit Lions and Philadelphia Eagles have secured their spots.
