An investigation is under after thousands of subway riders had to be evacuated from stalled trains after a Con Edison power failure in Downtown Brooklyn on Wednesday during the evening rush hour.The power failure led to some trains being rerouted Thursday morning but everything is now back to normal.

The trapped riders were eventually led off the stalled trains by firefighters into dark subway tunnels and up service stairways that led to trapdoors in the middle of Brooklyn sidewalks.
