Minnesota Wild owner Craig Leipold made it crystal clear that the team is thinking about Kirill Kaprizov's next contract.

The Minnesota Wild are able to sign their superstar Kirill Kaprizov to a contract extension on July 1 and talks have already been swirling for months now. Obviously, the team wants to keep their best player and one of the best wingers on the planet.

After the sensational start to the season, Minnesot Wild owner spoke about extending star Kirill Kaprizov's contract.

Even with Kirill Kaprizov seemingly scoring at will, he lifts his teammates in other ways that don't appear on the scoresheet.

Kaprizov has 43 points (18 goals, 25 assists) in 27 games, second in the NHL to Colorado Avalanche center Nathan MacKinnon, who has 46 points (10 goals, 36 assists) in 30 games. Kaprizov leads the Wild in scoring by a 15-point margin.

At 17-4-4, the Wild lead the NHL with 38 points. That's two points ahead of Winnipeg, Washington and New Jersey, and Minnesota has reached 38 in just 25 games. Winnipeg has played 26 and New Jersey has played 28 games, while the Capitals are two points behind in the same number of games.
