Caitlin Clark is receiving major backlash for pointing out her White privilege while wanting to elevate Black women in the WNBA.

Caitlin Clark has helped take the WNBA to a whole new level of popularity, but she admits her privilege and that Black WNBA built the league.

Indiana Fever superstar Caitlin Clark, who this week was named Time magazine’s Athlete of the Year, said she’s experienced privilege “as a white person” in her sport, arguing the league had “kind of been built” on the achievements of black athletes.

The basketball star was in Indianapolis when Taylor Swift performed in November on her Eras Tour. Clark attended two of the shows. She even posted to social media clips from the concert. Also in the audience on Saturday was Travis Kelce. Many took to social media to share photos of Kelce making a surprise appearance at night two of the Eras Tour.

In an interview regarding her recent Athlete of the Year honor with Time, Indiana Fever star Caitlin Clark revealed Swift left her four bags of merchandise when Clark attended the Eras Tour last month.
