Dozens of North Texas residents are speaking out about a proposed community catering to Muslims in an unincorporated part of Collin County near Josephine after several state investigations were recently launched into the project and the mosque it is tied to – The East Plano Islamic Center.

The East Plano Islamic Center has faced scrutiny and multiple investigations from state officials in recent weeks over a proposed development meant to accommodate Muslim residents.

Gov. Greg Abbott warned the East Plano Islamic Center and community developers that it cannot begin construction on the proposed EPIC City until certain criteria are met.
