The European Union is considering imposing tariffs on American-made Boeing aircraft as part of a broader retaliation strategy against U.S. trade measures, according to a report by the Financial Times cited by Digi24.

Europe should impose reciprocal measures on Boeing Co. if negotiations fail to lift recent US tariffs hurting the aerospace industry, according to Airbus SE Chief Executive Officer Guillaume Faury.

The European Commission did not comment officially. Aircraft imports to the U.S. are currently subject to 10% tariffs as part of President Donald Trump’s across-the-board introduction of levies. Before temporarily reducing them, he had proposed 20% for most goods and 25% for aluminum, steel and cars.
