Your Vespa will make the trip. The potholes and bumps are not that bad, and for the most part the road is smooth, compacted dirt. But you're going to park in the lot and want to walk through the redwood forest anyway for the best experience.
Yes there is a large car park and an alternative route if you can’t drive through the tree as we didn’t as we had a hire car and a gift shop with coffee and picnic tables
