Steep 2 km climb to the top with the reward of breathtaking views. We took the serpentine 6 km long route down and think that combination is probably the best for most hikers. Full review by Go-Ma-Tin

Our National Parks need more funding! The lack of funds leads to understaffing and a neglected appearance. The Visitor Center building is attractive; however, it is open only in the summer, I bel…Full review by dfb260

This is mostly an uphill trek to the overlook. Best to hike it when dry. Advise parking at the trailhead, not the visitor’s center which is about a quarter mile away. We were a group of two in our ea…Full review by LadureeFan

As of today, no. The news clarified that it was in fact a bobcat, not a mountain lion....I am not sure of the difference or if that makes it better or worse. The article mentioned that they were hiking an hour away from Humpback Rock. That seemed more feasible in that when I went, the hike up (1 mile) was so crowded, I can't imagine any wildlife "rearing their heads." We took the long way back which was much more secluded. I am not an expert and was surprised to hear the story, so I can't offer much more advice on that. Hiking directly up and back down the same way certainly should be safe (but steep and rocky).
