If you’re visiting Derry you have to take a walk around the city walls. I think it’s one of the only walled cities in Ireland and the view is fantastic. We went just at the end of autumn, it was cool…Full review by Mark H

Easy walk with great views and informative text panels. Cannons are especially impressive as is how much land has been reclaimed from the riverbank.Full review by StephenRForster

Is the visitor's center open on Sundays? Are the walls open to walk on Sundays?
A:
As far as I can remember, the walls are open for anyone and there doesn't seem to be a closing time. I don't know about visitor center hours, though, since I never went to one in Derry.
No tour guide required but it’s worth the £4 it costs. If it’s just a good walk you’re after go for it but you will miss out on the history of the city and in particular the siege of Derry
