You need a pass to park your car. We got one from our hotel. You can inquire in Southampton town hall I think or at your hotel if you are staying out there.

Hi Susan: Gin Beach is not as shown on the map on this page. It is at the very end of Hiway 30, going left along the shoreline. See the website for "onmontauk". The city has a well policed pay parking lot. We parked at a restaurant for free, just before the city lot and the beach. There is Gin Beach access via the Montauk Point State Park just before the end of the road. Watch out for the soft sand - we got stuck in an SUV.
