A beautiful beach but a few meters back from the beach the streets are filthy strewn with rubbish & so is the town of Bentota. Very sad.Full review by Kathryn S

Mirissa for sure. Go to the Amarasinghe Guest House. Can't be beaten for atmosphere.

Found it safe but if you really want more secluded place opt for good hotels with private beaches. There are many there.
