Due to all the recent rain, the creek was as high as I’ve ever seen it—a great time to visit, especially if you’re going swimming. There are several excellent swimming holes. It’s nice to see the do… Full review by bertranclan

Parked our car on the side of road. As we walked to the trail head, noticed several cars with windows broken into. Decided to just go back to our car. There must be a homeless settlement in the woods… Full review by Oliver T

Q:
Am i able to bring my own grill ?
A:
I didn't see any tables or a picnic area, and the paths are narrow, but I don't see any reason why you couldn't set up a grill by your car.
Q:
Where is the best swimming location?

The main public access is the one off of Capitol of Texas HWY (360). There’s parking but not a lot. It’s a hike, but you can get to the falls. The other entrances are tricky and in residential neighborhoods. There is info online including a map. I advise going on a werkday when it’s less crowded. It’s extremely popular.

I would have to drive to the access point. It is off MOPAC on the Southside of the lake. You can take 2222 to Loop 360 and you are there where is crosses. A better choice would be the hike and bike trail around Zilker if you are on foot. Hike along Barton Creek as far as it goes. McKinney Falls State Park is great as well. Go out Burleson Road and is on your right about five miles. You need a car for that one. Austin has lots of green
Q:
How long would it take to hike from the west end of Barton Creek Greenbelt to Zilker Park and then back again?

Obviously depends on your pace. Today my husband & I hiked from west end to about 10 min past the MOPAC bridge & then back up... not getting over to Zilker... That was 6.7 miles round trip & 2 1/2 hrs with 427’ elev change. Up & down Scottish Woods access is a challenge, making the rating moderate to difficult.
