i very much doubt that, newtonmore is a rather small village, with a pub and some stores but i cannot recall i saw a car rental company there. maybe you can have one delivered there ?

Yes you can, but some roads do need 4WD access. There is a sealed road all the way to the big house along the Loch although you cannot go the entire way up to the big house. You also need to be careful of heavy machinery at times as there is some construction work on the estate at present (Oct 2016).
