It’s been weeks since an EF-2 tornado ripped through parts of Rolla, and while the clean-up continues, so does the possibility of would-be thieves lurking in the debris.
A tornado was spotted in Rolla amid severe weather and thunderstorm warnings across Missouri on Friday. According to AZ Intel, the Rolla Fire Department has confirmed the tornado and reports of damage.
An EF-2 tornado that struck Rolla MO Friday night damaged more than 750 buildings within the city in Missouri.
"Let this serve as a clear warning ... Anyone caught stealing from our community members during this difficult time will be arrested," police warned on Facebook.
General Manager Rodney Bourne and other managers updated the Rolla Board of Public Works about the recent tornado and its effects on operation of the utilities.
Rolla Public Library is providing a lost-and-found for people who find photos and other personal items in their yards and elsewhere.

Our community has been incredibly supportive in coming forward to help with meals, food, and donated items,” Rolla Public School’s spokesperson Gina Zervos said.
The estimates of total damage in Rolla are $10 million and counting as the city finishes up the majority of its recovery efforts.
