Vice President-elect JD Vance has served in the U.S. Senate for less than two years and soon the process will begin to pick his replacement in the upper chamber.

JD Vance’s new position as vice president-elect leaves an open Senate seat in the Buckeye State, where the state’s Republican governor will select his replacement from a growing list of possible choices.

Vice President-elect will resign his upper chamber seat and trigger a selection process followed by a special election.
