The Cincinnati Reds host the Chicago White Sox in the second game of a 3-game set on Pete Rose Night Wednesday at Great American Ball Park.

Andrew Abbott added seven strikeouts to his season total against the Chicago White Sox on Tuesday, helping the Cincinnati Reds lefty further improve his K%.

It was more than 100 years ago that Shoeless Joe Jackson was among eight Black Sox banned from baseball for throwing the 1919 World Series. It’s been more than 35 years since Pete Rose suffered the same fate after betting on the sport as a player and manager of the Cincinnati Reds in the mid-1980s.

Cincinnati Reds top prospect Chase Burns climbed 12 spots to No. 11 in MLB Pipeline's new top 100 rankings. In his first three starts for the Double-A Chattanooga Lookouts, Burns has posted a 1.93 ERA with 21 strikeouts and just two walks in 14 innings.

Think about Tuesday night alone. Elly De La Cruz hits a game-tying home run in the bottom of the ninth. Finally, Elly gets a clutch hit. The Reds' biggest superstar gets the biggest hit of the game, but it could have been a walk-off home run had the same base running mistakes we've seen all season not occurred again on Tuesday night.
