Hungary’s populist Prime Minister Viktor Orbán announced Thursday that his country will withdraw from the International Criminal Court, just as Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu arrived to red carpet treatment in the country’s capital despite an ICC warrant for his arrest.
Hungary decided to quit the International Criminal Court (ICC) because it has become political, as its decisions on Israel showed, Hungarian Prime Minister Victor Orban said on Thursday.
Hungary will on Thursday start the legal procedure to exit the International Criminal Court, a senior official in Prime Minister Viktor Orban’s government said.
Austria will close two smaller crossings at its border with Slovakia and 21 at its border with Hungary from Saturday, in a bid to prevent foot-and-mouth disease from entering the country, the Interior Ministry said on Thursday.
