Hungary announced it will withdraw from the International Criminal Court as Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu arrived in Budapest for a four-day visit.

The move is announced hours after Israel's PM, who is sought under an ICC arrest warrant, arrives in Budapest for a state visit.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu of Israel, who is visiting Hungary despite facing an international arrest warrant, praised the move.

Just as Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who faces an arrest warrant from the International Criminal Court (ICC), arrived in Budapest on Thursday, Hungary said it plans to withdraw from the ICC.

Two of Netanyahu’s close advisers were arrested on suspicion of accepting money to promote Qatar’s image in Israel.

The visit comes as the Israeli prime minister faces an arrest warrant against him by the International Criminal Court.

U.S. President Donald Trump said on Thursday he spoke with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, adding that he may visit the United States next week.
