Notre Dame re-emerged in the Top 25 two weeks ago. The CFP committee agrees. But now that the Irish are ranked No. 10 in The AP Top 25 and the initial playoff rankings, they can't afford another stumble when they play reeling Florida State.

Notre Dame 's defense has been one of the best in college football this season, if not the best. The group allows 12.1 points per game, 156.1 passing yards per game, and rank No. 8 in the country in total defense. Florida State ranks in the bottom half of college football in most major offense stats.
