South Korean police has questioned the chief of the presidential security service as the two agencies clashed over attempts to detain impeached President Yoon Suk Yeol.

SEOUL (Reuters) -Authorities were en route on Friday to execute an arrest warrant for impeached South Korean President Yoon Suk Yeol, Yonhap news agency reported, as a crowd of protesters faced off with police outside his residence and vowed to block any attempt.

The support rate for South Korea’s main opposition that has been leading the impeachment campaign against President Yoon Suk Yeol dived, as investigators struggle to arrest the embattled leader.

South Korea's presidential security chief said Friday there must be no bloodshed if another arrest warrant for impeached President Yoon Suk Yeol is executed by investigators over his failed martial law bid.

Park sought to address public concerns about the standoff between investigators and Yoon's presidential security team.
