New Jersey Gov. Phil Murphy’s office offered a beyond-lame excuse Monday after he suggested he was protecting a migrant at his home — and taunted the Trump administration “to try to get her.’’ A rep told The Post that the loose-lipped Jersey leader had been “misinterpreted” and that no such situation had occurred — even though Murphy had dared the feds to come after the migrant.

A rep for New Jersey Gov. Phil Murphy told New York Post that the Dem had been “misinterpreted” over his remarks about sheltering a female illegal immigrant. The rep added that Murphy was actually talking about a legal resident who is in his circle of friends and was concerned about Trump returning to the White House.
