Ford is recalling nearly 274,000 SUVs in the United States due to a manufacturing defect that could cause brake fluid leaks and lead to a loss of braking function while driving, significantly increasing the risk of a crash in affected vehicles.

A total of 223,315 Ford Expedition models from the 2022-2024 model years are impacted. These SUVs were produced between April 15, 2021, and November 20, 2024. An additional 50,474 Lincoln Navigators from the same model years are also involved and were built between those same dates.

Ford Motor is recalling 273,789 Lincoln Navigator and Ford Expedition vehicles because of a poorly installed front brake line that may lead to reduced brake function increasing the risk of crash, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration said in recall dated May 9.
