The NYPD is on the search for a gunman who shot his former boss Thursday morning on the Upper West Side and fled into a nearby subway station.

According to reports, the suspect was fired before the shooting, confronted his boss and fired at least six shots before fleeing into subway tunnels.

The victim was taken to Mount Sinai Morningside Hospital in stable condition, according to police. The suspect ran into the subway at the 72nd Street and Central Park West station. Police said the investigation was continuing. Service was disrupted or rerouted on the A, B, C and D lines, as well as southbound M7 and M11 buses.

A person of interest was taken into custody Friday morning in the Upper West Side shooting that caused chaos on the subway system Thursday morning. Charges are pending against 42-year-old Eduardo Diaz of Queens.
