A man was fatally shot by police officers outside a New York City Police Department station house in Queens on Tuesday evening. It happened around 6:40 p.m. outside the 111th Precinct on Northern Boulevard near 215th Street in Bayside.

The NYPD said officers shot and killed a man Tuesday evening outside the 111th Precinct in Bayside, Queens after he pointed a handgun at an officer and refused repeated commands to drop it.

The NYPD has recovered a gun held by a 79-year-old man who was fatally shot by police officers outside the 111th Precinct station house on Tuesday, officials said. The man walked up to the precinct with the gun,
