Nate Silver washed his hands off his final prediction that it would be a close battle and re-upped his October prediction elaborating 24 reasons that Trump could win the election.

American University historian Allan Lichtman, famed for a model that has correctly predicted the popular vote in almost all recent presidential elections, took to social media to admit his mistake and take a swipe at a fellow prognosticator.

I emailed Lichtman this morning to see if he wanted to talk about what he thinks went wrong. He thanked me and declined. “Thanks Andrew,” he wrote. “But I am going to take some time off to assess why I was wrong and what the future holds for the country.”
