Capcom has already teased the next big thing for Wilds, and it appears that apex water beast, Lagiacrus, is returning in a free title update that will be coming to the game in summer 2025.

Lagiacrus was the flagship monster (the monster on the box with storyline importance) for Monster Hunter Tri, and it was the perfect way to show off that game's main gimmick of underwater combat.

In that small sliver of footage, fans saw signs that the much-sought-after return of Lagiacrus could be happening. Right at the end of the Monster Hunter Wilds Showcase, over the Title Update 2 text, ...

Monster Hunter Wilds Title Update 1 releases on April 4, 2025 (April 3 depending on where you are around the world).

Another title update is also planned for Summer 2025, with a stinger teasing the return of the fan-favorite Lagiacrus from Monster Hunter Tri/3u.

As for Title Update 2, that's coming this "summer" and, judging by Capcom's teaser trailer, will see the return of water leviathan Lagiacrus.

The company is still contemplating whether to release the weapon balance update in the version 1.011 update in late May 2025 or the second major title update that adds the Lagiacrus in Summer 2025.
