Automaker Kia America is recalling more than 80,000 vehicles due to floor wiring beneath the front passenger seat that can become damaged and prevent airbags and seat belts from deploying properly.

Kia is recalling more than 80,000 vehicles in the United States because of a possible issue with seatbelts and airbags, according to documents filed with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

Kia is recalling 80,255 Niro models because of a wiring issue that could interfere with the deployment of airbags.
