Flory Bidunga's return represents a huge victory for coach Bill Self as he rebuilds the Kansas roster after a season that fell below expectations.

After entering the transfer portal on March 29, Kansas big man Flory Bidunga is returning to the Jayhawks, Bidunga said in a phone interview with The Star on Sunday. Bidunga picked KU over Auburn and others. Kansas men’s basketball coach Bill Self now has five open roster spots.

With sources having reported that Bidunga was keeping the door open for a return to Kansas, there was a known possibility that Self and his staff could keep Bidunga, but the former five-star recruit was also known to have been heavily linked to Indiana – which was the state Bidunga played his high school basketball.
