Drivers in downtown Caldwell should take alternate routes after a train derailment caused blockage of the intersection of Main Street and 4th Avenue on Friday afternoon. Wheels came off one of the train’s cars Friday, leaving it stuck in the busy intersection, according to a Facebook post by the Caldwell Police Department.

A deadly 2023 Utah plane crash was likely caused by the pilot, a North Dakota lawmaker, becoming disoriented while taking off at night without runway lights, federal aviation investigators said. The National Transportation Safety Board said in its final report that Larsen lost his visual reference to the horizon and flew into rocky terrain.

A train is stopped on the tracks, blocking Main and 4th St. in downtown Caldwell. Caldwell Police report that the wheels came off of one of the train cars. According to CPD, the roadway will be closed for several hours.
