Boeing received its first order after reaching a deal with striking machinists, but it still faces a difficult road ahead.

Avia Solutions Group, which leases aircraft and provides related services, has ordered 40 Boeing 737 Max 8 jets, with an option to order 40 additional jets, the companies said in a joint statement on Tuesday.

Aircraft charter operator Avia Solutions Group said Tuesday it placed an order with Boeing (NYSE:BA) for 40 737 MAX jets, with an option to order 40 additional jets, in an effort to meet continued strong demand for additional capacity from airlines.

ASG and Boeing jointly announced the order on November 12, with the Lithuania-based but Ireland-registered company ordering 80 737 MAX 8 aircraft, with the purchase split between 40 firm and 40 optional orders.

Wet-lease specialist Avia Solutions Group expects to begin taking delivery of its newly-ordered Boeing 737 Max 8s at the beginning of the next decade. It says the agreement - which includes 40 firm aircraft and purchase rights on another 40 - involves deliveries from 2030.
