Sprouts made its debut in the Houston area in 2013, with its first local store at 23105 Cinco Ranch Blvd. off the Grand Parkway west. Sprouts entered the Houston grocery store market amid increased competition from other newcomers, such as Trader Joe's, and fast-growing Texas-based chains Whole Foods Market and H-E-B, among others.
