Hollywood actress Jan Shepard, who starred with Elvis Presley twice at the height of her fame, died aged 96 at a hospital in California on January 17 of pneumonia brought on by respiratory failure. As well as finding big screen fame she also enjoyed a glittering TV career with roles in westerns including Rawhide, The Virginian and Gunsmoke.
