Just in time for Wicked, a historic piece of Wizard of Oz memorabilia is going up for auction. A pair of Judy Garland's iconic ruby slippers from the 1939's The Wizard of Oz is being auctioned off as a part of Heritage Auctions' Hollywood/Entertainment Signature Auction.

The iconic ruby slippers, worn by Judy Garland as Dorothy in 1939's The Wizard of Oz, are currently up for auction. Valued at approximately $3.5 million, the auction concludes on December 7. This is one of three other surviving pairs of shoes from the film.

And we're not talking just any old pair of ruby slippers. Judy Garland famously wore several pairs of the sequined shoes during filming of The Wizard of Oz; a sister pair is on display at the Smithsonian's National Museum of American History.

The auction company received the sequin-and-bead-bedazzled slippers from Michael Shaw, the memorabilia collector who originally owned the footwear at the heart of the beloved 1939 musical.
